I dreamt that I was with a group of people in a foreign city but within the UK where suddenly I encountered my very very first girlfriend when I say encountered she was there but I could never actually get to her. I could not reach her and every time I try to reach her things pulled me away. The scenes were chaotic. We were borrowing around in this UK city. I think it might’ve been Leeds that I haven’t been to for more than 30 years and I was with a group of people on some Harte seem to be like a university trip of some kind and every time I tried to do anything I couldn’t. I couldn’t catch up with her I wanted to speak with her specifically I wanted to talk with her and we managed to share maybe two or three words and then she disappeared again and vanished off into the distance and I couldn’t find her and then I got lost from the group that was in as well and ended up in the city on my own and eventually found them and then again lost them when they were driving away and they seemed the oblivious to the fact that they were leaving me there on my own at which point my very first ex-girlfriend from more than 40 years ago were still not around then I couldn’t see her and I woke up feeling really frustrated because that’s one of the one things I think I’ve ever wanted to do in my life somewhere in the middle of it a friend during the dream remark to me that she had said that nobody could ever really understand why she did what she did and it was very unfair that she did and she even felt that what she did was unfair, but she had to do it yet. I never managed to get to speak to her.
Dreams where you encounter someone from your past, especially a significant figure like a first girlfriend, often reflect unresolved feelings or thoughts that you may have about that period in your life or that person specifically. Here is a detailed interpretation of your dream:
Encounter with an Ex-Girlfriend: Seeing your first girlfriend, someone you haven't been in contact with for many years, suggests a longing or unresolved aspect of your past relationship. This could mean you have unfinished emotional business or questions about that relationship that your subconscious is prompting you to address.
Inaccessibility and Frustration: The fact that you could never reach your ex-girlfriend and whenever you tried, something pulled you away, reflects feelings of incompleteness and missed opportunities. There might be emotions or words left unsaid that are lingering in your subconscious, creating a sense of frustration in the dream.
Chaotic Foreign City: Being in a foreign city within the UK, particularly Leeds which you haven't visited for over 30 years, signifies that you are navigating through unfamiliar emotional territories. This unfamiliarity could imply current life situations that remind you of past experiences, or you might be feeling nostalgic, reflecting on your youth or earlier life decisions during that time.
University Trip Setting: The setting of a university trip suggests learning or a period of growth. You might be revisiting the learning experiences or personal growth that stemmed from that first relationship, trying to uncover lessons or insights that were not clear to you before.
Lost and Alone: Getting separated from your group and ending up alone in the city might indicate feelings of isolation or the fear of being left behind in your current life situations. Your subconscious could be expressing concerns about your connection with friends, family, or colleagues, highlighting any feelings of neglect or oversight.
Friend's Remark: The comment from a friend regarding your ex-girlfriend's feelings about her actions introduces an external perspective. It suggests you might be seeking validation or understanding about the relationship's end, possibly feeling there was an unfair closure or an undisclosed truth. This might be your way of trying to make sense of why things happened the way they did.
Emotional Catharsis: Finally, waking up feeling frustrated suggests your mind is encouraging you to find closure or expression for these emotions. Although it was a dream, it’s possibly urging you to reflect on any unresolved aspects of past relationships or traits you might want to change about how you handle closures.
Consider what specific emotions or situations this dream brings to the forefront of your mind. It might be beneficial to write them down or talk to someone about your experiences and feelings toward them, potentially finding a form of closure or understanding.
